Delicious and fragrant on the palate, pineapple is also an ally of our beauty, especially for the youthfulness and firmness of the skin.
The little story…
Originally from Paraguay, in South America, the pineapple made a long journey to migrate to the Caribbean before being discovered in Guadeloupe by Christopher Columbus in 1493. The Indians called it “nana,” in other words “perfume perfumes,” at the origin of the word pineapple. It was not brought back to Europe until the 16th century when it immediately seduced the royal courts. It was grown in greenhouses for a long time and was finally imported in quantity to meet the expectations of more gourmets from the end of the 17th century. For a long time, it was especially prized for its taste virtues. Pineapple revealed its medicinal and cosmetic secrets belatedly, half a century ago, during scientific studies demonstrating its anti-inflammatory properties thanks to its bromelain (or bromelain) content. A supposed asset against cellulite, but not only. This excellent fruit would also relieve osteoarthritis, colds, and wounds.
